A Kew resident was thankful to have his two stolen bikes returned, after they were found abandoned in Chiswick.
The owner had ensured both bikes were security marked by local police, making it easy to identify the owner and return them.
Police Constable Alexis Nisiforou, from Kew safer neighbourhood team, said: “This will hopefully reassure the community and reinforce the message that if you’re a victim of bicycle theft, having your bike security marked and registered can make all the difference.
“By having your bike marked raises the chances of it being recovered and helps to deter would be thieves from selling the bike on. If you would like to have your cycle marked, please contact the team and we will assist.”
