Six-piece folk/rock band Jamie Thorn & The Mystery Pacific went busking in Paris last week.
The band was one of the winning teams from last year’s Mayor of London’s Gigs busking competition, which has just started a new round for 2013.
On April 4, the group played live to passing travellers at St Pancras International, before boarding a Eurostar train to Paris.
The band comprises singer/songwriter Jamie Thorn, 20, Christina Whitelock, 20, Simon Davidian, 20, Sam Heaver, 19, Shaun Newport, 20 and Steve Hodgkiss, 21.
They boast a variety of blues, classical, country, gospel, pop, gypsy jazz and ragtime repertoire and influences, including Simon and Garfunkel and Arcade Fire.
Since their triumph in the competition last year they have performed all over London and abroad – including their two day Paris tour.
Mr Davidian said: “It was an enlightening experience, introducing us to people from other parts of the world, getting involved in our music, performing at the Sacré Coeur Basilica, Montmartre, was the best as all CDs were snapped up.
“Come June or July, we will be back out there” explained Mr Davidian. “However, being uni students, there is only a short window of time for performing together.”
