A Hampton family got more than chocolate eggs this Easter after winning £100,000.

Neil Cassidy from Starling Walk, Hampton, got the cash after his postcode was drawn in the People’s Postcode Lottery, which he had been playing with his wife Laily since February.

The 37-year-old father of two works as a track engineer with Network Rail and has been looking to buy his first home with beauty technician Laily.

The couple have two children, Harrison, nine, and Sophia, who is about to turn eight, and has already been eyeing up some birthday treats to ask her parents for.

Mr Cassidy said: “There are so many things that we could use the money for, it’s a fantastic amount.

“We really do need to have a good sit down and think about how we want to spend it.

“Our winnings will provide such a big part of our deposit and will mean that we won’t have to scrimp and save too much.”

The People’s Postcode Lottery raises money for charities across the country and ambassador Scott Quinnell presented Mr Cassidy with his cheque.

He said: “I am absolutely delighted for Neil. What a fantastic win for Easter weekend.”
