Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision between an elderly pedestrian and a cyclist.
Officers were called at 11.55am on Thursday to reports of a collision between an 81-year-old man and a cyclist in Petersham Road, outside the Poppy Factory.
The pedestrian was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, after suffering a suspected head injury.
He remains in a critical condition.
The 41-year-old cyclist suffered minor injuries and was treated at St George's Hospital, Tooting, before being discharged.
The A307 Petersham Road was closed in a southbound direction following the incident.
Detective Sergeant John Hartfree, who is leading the investigation, said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to the collision, to speak to our team.
"Petersham Road would have been very busy at this time of day and I am sure there would have been many people in the area who would have seen this incident."
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information should call the Hampton Traffic Garage on 020 8941 9011.
