Torchwood star John Barrowman guarantees festival-goers a great time at his upcoming performance on the closing night of this year’s Hampton Court Palace Festival.
The star of stage and screen shares with Meg Kiseleva his excitement at taking part in the famous festival on Sunday, June 24.
It will be a bonus night for visitors and will be Barrowman’s only London stage appearance this year.
He says: “Coming to perform at Hampton Court Palace is like coming home.
“This will be my first time taking part in this festival so I’m looking forward to it, particularly that I’m the actor who closes the whole thing - which means that I can see the fireworks.”
There will be a diverse range of songs, including hits from the West End.
“I guarantee that people are going to have a great night of entertainment. There will be a piece of music for everybody,” he says. The Hampton Court Festival is a great opportunity to spend the weekend in a traditional British way, enjoying food and drink and listening to music.
Although the concert starts at 9pm, palace gates will open at 5.30pm so visitors will have a chance to spend an evening in the beautiful setting and enjoy the midsummer evening.
Barrowman says: “It’s great for people to do concerts in the open air, because it lets you celebrate the kind of whole British psyche in that way, where people can go out, have a couple of drinks, bring a picnic and have dinner while they are watching the show.”
