A long term polio sufferer from Hampton was visited by the mayor of Richmond last month, when she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Dori Pomroy, who has suffered from polio since the age of two, opened her traditional card from the Queen with new mayor Councillor Meena Bond at her birthday bash on May 30.
The 100-year-old, who lives in Richmond Housing Partnership’s Dean Road Extra Care scheme in Hampton, said: “It’s been a lovely day, thank you so much to Denise [scheme manager] and her team for organising this for me.”
Councillors Rita Palmer and Geoffrey Samuel also paid a visit to wish her well.
