A young folk star previously dubbed a “witty Americana songstress” is bringing her fresh new sound to Twickenham as part of her UK tour.
Rebecca Pronsky, 32, will perform with guitarist and husband Rich Bennett at her gig at The Patch, which coincides with the release of her new album, Only Daughter.
Pronsky, from Brooklyn, spoke about the beginning of the tour last week from her hotel in Glasgow, following a gig in Edinburgh.
She jokes they are all a bit “loopy” at the first show due to jetlag, but that she still loved the gig.
She says: “I’m excited the last show is in Twickenham. I’ve never been there before but I’ve always heard such good things about it.”
Pronsky is on tour this year throughout the US and UK in support of Only Daughter, her third full-length record.
Only Daughter was produced by Bennett and recorded and mixed by friend and collaborator Scott Solter.
She says: “There’s a real live music culture [in the UK], which we don’t have as much at home. That’s why we like to come here so much.
“It’s far from home, so it has to be worthwhile coming all this way.”
Rebecca Pronsky; Twickfolk, The Patch, London Road, Twickenham, on March 31, from 8pm.
